LIBRARY POLICY FOR SCHEME FOR MERITORIOUS STUDENTS
The SMS scheme, which stands for Scheme for Meritorious Students, offers eligible students the opportunity to receive books for the entire semester from the library. Students who secure the top three positions in their branch for the semester are eligible for this scheme. The first, second, and third toppers are entitled to receive 4, 3, and 2 books, respectively.
 AIMS & OBJECTIVES:
• To recognize and reward academic excellence among students.
• To empower top-performing students to excel at the university level.
 PROCEDURE TO FOLLOW:
1. Fill the application form.
2. Get attestation (Seal & Signature) from the head of the department on application form and on the result sheet / marks card.
3. Submit the application form to the library at circulation counter.
4. Get the books from racks listed in the form to issue under the scheme.
 INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Only first result is considered for the scheme. If any changes in the position (Top 3) after the revaluation is  not entertained.
2. The scheme validity is for the particular semester only.
3. Only textbooks recommended in the syllabus will be provided in the scheme. After issuing no exchange of books entertained.
4. Issue of the books is subject to availability of the books in the library stock. (Before mentioning in the form; check the books availability through Library OPAC http://library.git.edu)
5. Library authority have rights to make any changes regarding the scheme.
6. As soon as exams (SEE) get over of the particular subject; the related book should be return to library. In case of late submission penalty will be charged.
7. Enclose your Previous Semester Result/Marks Sheet with HoD Attestation.
